Most whiskey ages in silence. Ours listens.
Music plays through the ReVerb barrel room in sessions while our whiskey ages. Here’s how it works, what the barrels are hearing, and how you can listen with us.

Whiskey shouldn’t sit still.
In April 2006, a storm with tornado-strength winds tore the roof and part of a wall off an aging warehouse at a Kentucky distillery, leaving some of the barrels inside exposed to the weather for months. It is a good story, but we don’t claim it proves anything about vibration.
It made our founder, Craig Bryan, wonder what would happen if a barrel never sat still, and music was the obvious way to move it.
A familiar idea in music
Musicians have long described wooden instruments as opening up over years of age and use. Researchers continue to study how much comes from vibration, natural changes in the wood, and the player’s relationship with the instrument.
A barrel is wood, too. The comparison proves nothing on its own, but like the storm, it made us curious, so we set out to learn what music might bring to the whiskey resting inside.
Our barrel room plays music, with the focus on bass, on the second weekend of every month, Friday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central each day.

Sound
Music plays through the barrel room during Sound Aging sessions, with the focus on bass.
Vibration
Low frequencies travel through the room and into the barrels.
Movement
The whiskey moves and laps against the charred oak instead of sitting still.
Flavor
Our goal: more of the oak’s character in every glass.
An illustration of our approach, not a laboratory measurement. We’re still experimenting, and that’s part of the fun.
Whatever you listen to, ReVerb listens too.
Country, hip-hop, rock, soul, jazz, Latin, electronic. The genre changes; the bass and rhythm underneath it are what move the whiskey. Open the Barrel Room to see the playlists behind each batch.
Real music, every genre.
Real songs from every genre: country, hip-hop, rock, soul, jazz, Latin, electronic and more.

Our bourbon and rye, resting in charred American oak.
Low-frequency sound keeps the whiskey moving against the wood.
The Barrel Room shows what is on during a session, takes song requests for open times that weekend, and lists what has played before.
Whatever you listen to, ReVerb listens too.
The genre changes from song to song. What stays the same is bass, rhythm and vibration, and that’s what moves the whiskey.
This shows the barrel room’s own playlist. We only label it “Live” once the warehouse player is connected.
