A barrel marked ReVerb Bourbon in chalk at the Austin distillery
Our Story

What if whiskey listened to music while it aged?

That one question became ReVerb Distilling.Born in Austin. Built in Texas.

I · The Idea

It started with a storm.

In April 2006, a storm with tornado-strength winds tore the roof and part of a wall off an aging warehouse at a Kentucky distillery. Some of the barrels inside sat exposed to the weather for months while it was repaired, and that whiskey was later bottled as a special release.

III · The Place

Austin, all the way down.

O. Henry called Austin the “City of the Violet Crown,” after the purple haze that settles over the hills at sunset. The capital V in ReVerb is our nod to it. The rest of the name comes from reverberation, the echo of sound.

ReVerb lives where the city runs into the Hill Country. We want to work with local artists and venues, and we’d be just as happy to be poured on Rainey Street as on a ranch porch.
